What are the Yorkshire Rising Star Awards?

The Yorkshire Rising Stars have been established to recognise and celebrate the next generation of finance professionals across the Yorkshire region.

The awards are aimed at outstanding qualified or part qualified accountants who have made a significant contribution to the running of their finance function and may perhaps be the finance directors of tomorrow, find out more here.

Nominations can be made through the nomination form.

Why should I enter?

Yorkshire Rising Stars is a fantastic way to recognise the contribution of a member/members of your finance team, who might not otherwise be recognised. Find out more and hear from participants here.

Am I eligible to enter?

What will the interview involve?

The interview will focus on the nominee’s experience to date, their responsibilities, any ideas or changes they’ve implemented within the firm, how they’ve overcome challenges they may have faced and where they see their role going in the future. Find out more about the interview here.

When will I find out if I have won?

Following your interview, the representatives from Sharp Consultancy, Grant Thornton, Gordons LLP and RBS will meet to discuss all the candidates with an independent adjudicator to decide on the winners of each category and the overall Yorkshire Rising Star of the Year.

The final results will be announced at a black tie gala dinner on 16 October 2014, to which you and your nominee will be invited and receive complimentary tickets to.

When is the awards ceremony?

The Rising Star Awards 2014 will be held at Oulton Hall, Leeds on Thursday 16 October 2014. The ceremony will be a black tie gala dinner for over 150 guests, with renowned speakers from the local community.
